The French national team coach Didier Deschamps has claimed the reason why he snubbed Arsenal inform striker Alexandre Lacazette from his national team is because of the competition in the team.
Deschamps had refused the former Lyon striker from the World Cup team and that has not changed with the call for the UEFA nations league despite the fine form of the player.
In his defence, the French boss stated that the Arsenal striker must work harder to earn a place because of the competition in the team.
He added that the players who won the World Cup are still at their best; hence it might be difficult for new additions.
He made it clear that the attack position, in particular, has been very competitive which makes it difficult for him to find a space in the team.
Lacazette has scored 5 goals in all competitions this season with his latest brace against Fulham on Sunday.
His fine form has caught the attention of the football world and that has earned him a place in FIFA team of the week.
Despite being snubbed at the national side, the player has continued working as he is an important part of the Arsenal team.
