Chelsea handed opportunity to sign £54million game-changing striker in January

Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has had his challenges this past month, and rumour is linking him with a transfer to Stamford Bridge.

Aubameyang, 28, has established himself as one of Europe’s best marksmen, netting 137 goals in 208 matches for the Bundesliga side, with 40 in 46 matches last campaign, while his tally this term currently stands at 17 in 19 matches as he continues to prove that he is top class.

In turn, after his recent suspensions and ban by Dortmund a price tag of £54million has been placed on him with a view of a departure, according to The Sun, it would come as no shock to see teams from around Europe lining up to sign him.

As per The Mirror, the Blues will have a surprise chance to strengthen their attacking options in the winter transfer window with the capturing of the Gabonese.

Italian tactician Antonio Conte is light upfront, as aside from Alvaro Morata, he only has Michy Batshuayi as an alternative out-and-out striker, and so he would need to reinforce his squad.

Alvaro Morata has made a bright start to life in the Premier League, scoring nine goals and providing four assists in 18 matches so far this campaign, but Antonio Conte can’t realistically continue to depend on him to score goals consistently all season long with the blues still competing on various fronts.
