Adnan Januzaj has finally talked about why manager Jose Mourinho asked him to leave Manchester United on loan last summer.
Januzaj rose to prominence when David Moyes was still boss at the Old Trafford club, but the Belgian however struggled to build on that during his time with Borussia Dortmund last season.
After not been able to pick up chances to impress at Man United, he went on loan to Premier League rivals Sunderland for the 2016/17 campaign.
However speaking about his situation recently, Januzaj has opened up and talked about his relationship with Jose Mourinho.
He insisted that he never had any problems with Jose Mourinho because Mourinho is a top coach.
“Last summer, they asked me to play a year on loan to get some game-time because I had not played for a year, I joined Sunderland for playing time and to continue to make progress. After this season we will see again.” he said.
He also added that he have always had confidence in his football qualities and have ever been afraid of anything.
Januzaj made 14 top flight appearances for the Black Cats this term and has a long way to go before he can think about coming into the starting XI at Old Trafford.
