French Club Olympique de Marseille on the verge of making Chelsea star John Obi Mikel a possible replacement for Injured Abou Diaby in the January transfer market, according to TuttoMercatoweb.
After Antonio Conte took over as manager, Mikel is yet to feature for Chelsea hinting a move out of Chelsea in the January transfer market is likely.
The Nigerian Captain is in the final year of his contract with Chelsea and by default he is free to hold talks with other clubs.
Mikel said:
“When you have a year left, in January you are allowed to talk to other clubs and sign a pre-contract or have an agreement so, yes, I will talk to other clubs because you never know what is going to happen (mirror.co.uk).
Mikel Obi also confirm that he could be open to a move in the Premier League if he decides to leave, according to metro
“‘If it is going to be the Premier League there will be options. If it is China or some other places, we will see. One thing is for sure, I will make the best decision.’”
Mikel Obi signed for Chelsea in 2006, making over 350 appearance for the blues, and has won numerous awards including the champions League.
