According to reports, manager Jose Mourinho was behind the deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan join North London because he believes the former Borussia Dortmund playmaker lacked the mental strength to play for a team like Manchester United.
The Armenia international is getting closer to completing a switch to Arsenal in a straight trade deal for Alexis Sanchez.
Herinkh already had a medical with the gunners during the weekend, and his new side are expected to bring up an official announcement any moment from now.
The Armenian started the season brilliantly at Old Trafford, providing 5 assists to his teammates in his first 3 games for the red devils.
However, he is currently struggling for consistency and is reportedly not on the good books of manager Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
He will be replaced by Alexis Sanchez – who was spotted in a Manchester United shirt few hours ago around Old Trafford.
And it was made known recently that Jose ran out of patience with Herinkh’s form and felt the Armenian couldn’t handle the pressure of playing for his side.
According to the report, the Portuguese tactician believes Mkhitaryan is a little too lightweight to play in the English top flight. And with the player failing to drop a single assist in his last 12 premier league games, he has been kicked out of the starting XI at Old Trafford.
Should Arsenal fans get worried? Can he flourish at the Emirates?
