Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is apparently not too pleased with Andreas Pereira’s decision to leave Old Trafford on loan.
The talented youngster chose to move to La Liga side Valencia on a season-long loan last month despite that he was part of those the Portuguese boss gave a big chance during their pre-season tour.
The 21-year-old left Old Trafford after failing to make the club’s matchday squad for their opening three English top flight matches.
And Jose Mourinho, speaking recently about the situation, criticised the player’s decision and admitted that he is disappointed with him not wanting to fight for his place in his squad.
Indicating that the player is entitled to his own decisions, Jose, however, revealed that he isn’t embracing it and is of the opinion that the decision to leave Old Trafford currently is not the best for Pereira.
‘[He made] a decision that disappoints me a little bit because I think he [Pereira] has the potential to [fight] for a position [and] for opportunities and to be a Manchester United player.’ he said.
The former Chelsea boss also thinks the player chose to leave his team because he desire playing every every weekend – something he can’t get without fighting very hard for at a big club like Manchester United.
Mourinho however added that Andreas has a long-term contract with Man United, and there is an option to bring him back in January.
“So we have that situation under control.” he said.
