For quite some times now, EPL giants Manchester United have been interested in signing Croatian international and Barcelona star Ivan Rakitic.
The Old Trafford club were snubbed in the summer transfer window. Last December, there were reports by The Sun suggesting that the former Sevilla star wants to sign a new contract with the Catalan giants.
However, there is a new development being speculated by the media. The latest reports going on in the media is that things have changed for the 28-year-old midfielder, and United boss Jose Mourinho now has the chance to finally secure his signature.
A Spanish source Marca, reported that the reigning La Liga champions want to renew Lionel Messi’s contract, for which they are prepared to sell four players and one of them is Rakitic.
Rakitic who goes home with £110,000 (I.e $138,000) each week, is a versatile talent that can play anywhere in the midfield.
Since joining the Spanish club, he has been a key member of Luis Enrique’s squad, but unfortunately this season, he has not been fantastic.
In this current campaign in 26 games, the Croat has managed to only score 3 times and provided 1 assist. But being realistic, he is a top quality player who has the capacity to improve Man United’s midfield.
