According to reports, Manchester United star player Marouane Fellaini could be sidelined for two months after picking an injury during their recent 2-0 defeat to Spurs.
The Belgium midfielder came on as a second-half substitute on Wednesday night but was forced off a few minutes later, due to issues with his knee.
Marouane is expected to have scans on Thursday, but there are fears already that the injury is something serious.
And according to ESPN FC, Fellaini is likely to go under the knife and could be out of action for up to two months.
The talented player has had issues with the same leg all season after previously injuring his knee while playing for Belgium last October.
After sitting out for a month, he picked another knock on the same knee when his side won Brighton in November and was sidelined for another six weeks.
Speaking after the 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, manager Jose Mourinho, asked about the midfielder’s injury, said it was an ‘unlucky’ incident for everyone – because the player was going into the game with enthusiasm.
Fellaini will be out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of this season and is not expected to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
Mourinho on his part will hope his men can quickly move on and focus on their next game.
