Liverpool Handed Huge Boost In Pursuit Of Serie A Star
Merseyside giants Liverpool have received a big boost in their quest to sign highly-rated Napoli midfielder Piotr Zelinski following the news that his club is struggling to convince him to sign a contract extension with the Italian Series A giants.
This is according to the publication from Italian news outlet calciomercato.
Piotr Zelinski has been a key player for Napoli since he joined the club from fellow Italian side Udinese in the summer of 2016.
Napoli paid around €16m to secure his transfer and he has a release clause of around €65m.
Apart from Liverpool, Premier League title rivals Arsenal are also monitoring his situation at Champions League campaigners Napoli.
The Polish international midfielder is said to be delaying on a possible contract extension due to the disagreement in the release clause for the new deal.
Napoli want to insert around €90m/95m into the new contract but the player is adamant that he won’t extend his contract until the release clause is lowered.
Piotr Zelinski is a key player for club and country.
He was part of the Poland team that didn’t perform up to expectations at this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in the European nation of Russia.
