According to reports, Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has become a major transfer target for Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid after defender Dani Carvajal was ruled out with a heart problem.
The right-back, Dani Carvajal, was sidelined at the end of last month with a heart problem, just after he had renewed his deal with Real Madrid until 2022.
Real Madrid are therefore believed to be looking to replace him and have turned their attention to the Arsenal defender, claim Spanish publication Don Balon. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is believed to be a fan of the 22-year-old.
Reports indicate they could sign the Spain Under 21 international for a fee of around £35million.
The defender was strongly linked with a transfer to La Liga giant FC Barcelona during the summer transfer window. He played for FC Barcelona as a youngster before the Gunners signed him up back in 2011.
As per report by BBC’s David Ornstein, the right-back came back from the Under-21 Euros and told manager Arsene Wenger he wanted to switch but the boss stood firm. So it’s possible that the Arsenal star could look to depart again.
Barcelona signed Nelson Semedo from Portuguese side Benfica instead and then reported Bellerin did not have the right qualities to play for FC Barcelona.
