Nacho Monreal

Arsenal manager, Unai Emery has made it clear, how close full-back Nacho Monreal is to his heart, hence will not be allowed to leave the club.

The Spanish full-back who has made three appearances in the Premier League including getting on the scoresheet has been identified as the player who is important to the current Arsenal team under the former PSG manager.

Reports in Spain say Spanish giants are already keeping tab on the player and will not hesitate to grab the player for a deal.

The 32-year-old is also believed to serve as a backup for first choice left-back Jordi Alba and to provide a good competition for the position.

But Arsenal boss Emery has laid the speculations to rest by affirming his desire to keep Monreal at the Emirates with a new contract.

According to the Spanish coach, Monreal is a familiar player to him, having known him in Spain when he was playing in Osasuna and in Malaga.

He stated that six years after, Monreal has transformed to a better player he used to be, adding that with the few months of working at Arsenal, the full-back deserves to remain at the club.

Monreal joined Arsenal in 2013 from La Liga side Malaga, and has become a regular fixture in the Arsenal starting XI.
