Done? Napoli Submit Offer For Liverpool Transfer Target
Italian Serie A side Napoli have reportedly submitted an offer to sign highly rated Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.
This is according to the publication from popular Italian news outlet Calciomercato.
It was claimed that the Partenopei has submitted a juicy offer to fellow Italian Serie A side Cagliari Calcio in the attempt to prise one of their prized assets away from the club.
Napoli were said to have submitted a transfer offer of around €20m plus two players for Nicolo Barella.
Barella has been previously linked with a move to Premier League table toppers Liverpool following his emergence as one of the best midfielders in the Italian Serie A.
The 21-year-old has become a key player for Cagliari since he broke into the team.
Liverpool were not the only club to have registered interest in the player.
Italian Serie A giants Juventus, as well as the North London duo of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, have all been touted as possible destinations for Nicolo Barella.
They could all be beaten to his signing by Napoli who have backed up their interest in Barella with a firm bid.
It remains to be seen whether the €20m bid plus Napoli players Adam Ounas and Marco Rog will be accepted.
