Arsenal are on the verge of completing their first deal of the year as reports claim they’ve reached an agreement with Barcelona for Denis Suarez’s signature.

The Spanish winger has been a source of transfer speculations for many weeks but that’s is set to end as Unai Emery is reportedly close to capturing his services.

The Barcelona outcast worked with Emery during his time as Sevilla coach, hence, Emery knows how to get the best out of his compatriot.

What does Suarez’s switch to Emirates Stadium mean to Mkhitaryan

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has not lived up to his billing since his move to the North London club from Manchester United a year ago.

The Armenian star was sold to Arsenal by José Mourinho as a makeshift for Alexis Sanchez’s signature during 2018 winter market.

Meanwhile, his time under Emery could be as good as over should the Gunners eventually end up with Suarez’s signature.

Emery rates his compatriot higher than the former United winger and it means Mkhitaryan’s chances of featuring regularly for the team will drastically reduce in the second half of the campaign.

In fact, the Sun are tipping the player to leave Emirates Stadium before the end of the current transfer market. The British publication suggests the 25-year-old won’t see quality time on the field of play and that won’t be too good for his young career.

Understandably, no club has shown interest in Mkhitaryan’s services because Emery did not show any sign of letting him go this month. But that would change as soon as the Gunners unveil Denis Suarez any moment of today
