Kalidou Koulibaly

Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid have made a big bid for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly according to widespread reports emanating from the Italian media.

Real Madrid are likely to sign a new defender during this summer’s transfer window after it was revealed that club captain Sergio Ramos is ruminating over the idea of ending his 14-year stay with the Los Merengues.

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly is being targeted by Real Madrid as a potential replacement for Sergio Ramos if the Spaniard leaves the club this summer.

Sergio Ramos has already been linked with Premier League clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United as well as French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG).

Kalidou Koulibaly has shown over the years that he has the qualities needed to replace Sergio Ramos at Real Madrid.

Correire dello Sport revealed that Real Madrid have already made a £79m bid for the aforementioned Koulibaly.

It remains to be seen whether Napoli will accept the Real Madrid bid having rejected a similar big money transfer fee from Premier League giants Manchester United for their prized asset.

Kalidou Koulibaly has been attracting the interest of European clubs like Barcelona, Manchester United and Chelsea.

He would definitely command a world-record fee for a defender if Napoli decide to sell him.

Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk holds the record at £75m.
