Liverpool target Nabil Fekir could be on his way to Merseyside club Liverpool after Lyon boss Bruno Genesio admitted that the Frenchman may have played his last match for the French Ligue 1 side.
Liverpool strongly linked with a move for fekir
Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move for the Lyon player in the summer amid reports of £62million deal with the Ligue 1 outfit for their star playmaker.
The Reds have some funds to spend following Brazilian Philippe Coutinho’s £142million transfer to Spanish La Liga side Barcelona in the winter transfer window.
Nabil Fekir would perfectly fill Coutinho’s void in the Liverpool squad given his eye-catching displays in the Ligue 1 this season.
Top quality playmaker
Fekir, 24, has netted 18 goals and has provided seven assists in 29 matches in French Ligue 1 this term to challenge Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain.
Talking to olweb.fr, Lyon manager Genesio seemed to open the door to the playmaker’s potential departure at the end of the season.
The Merseysider’s finished in fourth position in the English Premier League this campaign to secure a return to the UEFA Champions League in successive campaigns.
Liverpool will take on holders Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final later in the month in Kiev.
