Premier League giants Chelsea are back in the hunt for Shakthar Donetsk midfielder Taison ahead of the upcoming transfer window scheduled to begin as from the 1st of January.
The Blues were interested in a move for the 30-year-old in the summer with reports claiming that work permit was the only reason why he didn’t complete a move to Chelsea despite the fact that he had already agreed terms with the Stamford Bridge outfit.
The Brazilian midfield maestro has been a key player for his Shakthar Donetsk side since he signed for the club in 2013.
He has played a big role for the Ukrainians who have relegated rivals Dynamo Kiev to the back stage of football in Ukraine.
Shakthar Donetsk are undisputed kings of Ukrainian club football at the moment.
Since his transfer to Shakthar Donetsk five years ago, Taison has scored 40 goals and also provided 60 assists in 220 appearances for the club in all competitions.
He has also made his mark for Shakthar Donetsk in Europe’s premier club competition, Champions League.
Taison has scored four goals and provided seven assists for his club in the Champions League.
His performances for Shakthar Donetsk has made him one of the transfer targets for Chelsea.
