Premier League giants Chelsea have reportedly reignited their interest in highly rated Juventus centre back Daniele Rugani with the transfer window just few weeks away.

The Blues had earlier been linked with a move for the Italian international defender especially in the summer when new manager Maurizio Sarri took over.

The 59-year-old became the Chelsea manager after putting pen to paper on a three-year deal as a replacement for Antonio Conte who was sacked for an underwhelming outing in the last campaign.

Chelsea finished fifth at the end of the season thereby missing out on the Champions League campaign this term and also won the 2018 FA Cup title via a 1-0 victory over top four rivals Manchester United in their final clash.

The FA Cup title triumph was unable to save Conte from being axed at Chelsea and he was subsequently replaced with compatriot Sarri.

The former Napoli boss was said to be interested in Rugani whom he worked with at Italian Serie A side Empoli.

The 24-year-old player was linked with the Blues in the summer and those transfer rumours have surfaced again after the Daily Express claimed that Chelsea have reignited their interest in signing the Juventus centre back.
