Reigning Premier League Champions Chelsea have fined star striker Diego Costa two weeks’ wages for not returning to training.

The Spain international striker has been away in his home town of Lagarto in the South America country of Brazil.

Costa had told British tabloid Daily Mail UK last Sunday that the blues are treating him “like a criminal” and that he has lost all respect for head coach Antonio Cont’s person.

Diego Costa had also confirmed in June that the former Italy Coach, sent him a text message informing him he would not be in the Stamford Bridge outfit’s plans for the new Premier League season.

The striker was given more days off when other Chelsea players assembled at Cobham HQ for pre season training sessions in early July.

The former Athletico Madrid striker has refused to return to training with the club since after the end of his summer holiday and declared on Sunday that the West London club has told him to come back and train with the reserves, away from the first team.

As per ESPN, no condition like that was stated out to the Spaniard.

The Antonio Conte tutored side simply expect the forward to fulfil the terms and conditions of his deal by returning to training, regaining fitness and making himself available to be selected.

The Blues have fined the 28-year-old about £300,000 which is his two weeks’ wages for refusing to come back to the London club.
