Leonardo Bonucci

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci has emerged as a target for Chelsea this summer as he is reportedly wanted by former manager Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.

There are reports that the Italian defender is ready to snub his countryman by extending his contract with Juventus this summer.

The former Juventus manager is keen on bolstering his defence department in the coming months and Bonucci has emerged as a top target.

It is understood that Chelsea considered the 30-year-old as an ideal replacement for departing club legend John Terry, weighing up a £45million move for him.

Unfortunately, Tuttosport says the Chelsea boss is set for disappointment in the pursuit of the player as he is not considering leaving Juventus having spent seven years already at Turin.

The defender is regarded as one of the best centre-backs in Europe, and it is said that he intends staying put and try to help the old ladies win the Champions League following their defeat to Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid earlier in the month.

Apart from Leonardo, the Premier League champions are also strongly linked with another Juventus star in the person of Alex Sandro.

The Stamford Bridge club are said to be willing to offer the Brazilian star a contract worth around £160,000-a-week and the Serie A champions have already confirmed to have received a ‘substantial’ offer for the 26-year-old fullback.
