Rangers have announced in an official statement that English premier league club Chelsea have signed one of their talented stars in the person of Billy Gilmour.
Even though the Scottish side were desperate to keep hold of the superb teenager, they confirmed it on their website that Billy will be joining Chelsea’s academy ahead of the summer transfer window.
It was speculated all over the media last month that the premier league leaders had agreed a £350,000 deal for the talented forward. Right now, the west London club have wrapped up the signing of the starlet.
The Scottish giants in an official statement, noted that their preference would have been for Gilmour to stay at the club. But since the player made clear his desire to move to the English Premier League, they’ve got no other choice but to maximized the commercial value for him – which they believed have been done.
The club expressed that they are pleased with the outcome and that the deal represents good value for them.
Considering the way the player was sought after by many Premiership clubs and also a number of top clubs in other European countries, it is a good indication that the Rangers Academy are working hard producing quality players.
