Brazilian winger Bernard has revealed that he favoured a move to Everton over Chelsea due to Marco Silva’s influence – Official Website.

The 25-year-old arrived at Goodison Park amid significant offers from West Ham United, AC Milan and Chelsea.

The pacy winger who became a free agent at the end of last season, after leaving Shakhtar Donetsk was tipped to make move to the Premier League, with Chelsea believed to be in the likeliest destination.

There were reports that the Blues even offered Bernard a contract but the winger preferred a move to Everton due to the opportunity to play more as well as the influence of Toffees boss Marco Silva.

The summer transfer window was quite a mixed one for Chelsea, as they were on the verge of losing most of their key players to top suitors in Europe, with the likes of Willian and Eden Hazard both tipped to make a move away from the Stamford Bridge.
