BBC pundit Garth Crooks names who rescued Liverpool from defeat

Alisson Becker

BBC pundit Garth Crooks has stated that Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker was the man who saved his side from suffering a defeat when he stopped Jesse Lingard’s shot.

The BBC pundit described it as a moment of sheer brilliance as it would have been the only goal of the game and against the visiting Red team.

The draw was enough for the Merseyside club to move top in the league table with a point difference from second-placed Man City.

However, the BBC pundit claims there was a crucial moment that would have defined the game when Romelu Lukaku deft through pass sent Jesse Lingard clean through on goal. All of the moment was clear for the Red Devils to take the lead but Alisson was there to save the situation.

Garth Crooks stated that Liverpool were only able to go top of the table because of the save by Alisson as the Reds forwards were lacking in their usual intensity.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has expressed surprise that his forwards were unable to score a goal in the game but expressed confidence that his side will manage the situation and that will begin by ensuring a win in their next game against Watford.
