AS Roma star player Antonio Rudiger seems to be destined to play in the premier league next season with widespread speculations about how close he is to make a move to Chelsea.
In a new development, however, there are reports that Chelsea’s rivals Manchester City have also made their interest known in the player and the player has paused his move to Stamford Bridge to consider the Etihad club.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is determined to seal a deal to sign the 24-year-old who he identified as a good signing after both John Terry and Nathan Ake left Stamford Bridge this summer.
It is understood that the west London club have agreed on a £33million deal with the player’s club and Rudiger himself appeared to fuel speculation linking him with an imminent transfer by liking a picture of the bBluesnew kit.
But Pep Guardiola’s side are said to be set to hijack Chelsea’s bid for the Germany international as the Spanish manager eyes further reinforcements in his squad.
According to the Daily Mirror, Man City are set to drop an improved offer to Roma in a bid to beat the premier league champions to Rudiger’s signature.
It was added that interest from Man City has forced the player to alter his plans as he was set for a medical at Chelsea this week, but will now discuss his options with his reps over the coming days.
