North London outfit Arsenal legend Martin Keown has accused his former side of making a wrong decision to have sold Brazilian international Gabriel Paulista to Spanish La Liga side Valencia in 2017.
Having spent 18 months with the Gunners, Gabriel Paulista was able to secure 64 appearances but struggled to fit into the team as he was unable to impress under former manager Arsene Wenger.
However, the Gunners team had a feel of the Brazilian international during their Europa League semi-finals tie at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday as he was solid in his defending for Valencia despite the fact that he suffered a 3-1 defeat.
Martin Keown has stated that the decision to let the star player leave was not a good one because he is an aggressive player who is needed in the team as well.
He recalled that Gabriel Paulista was sent off in a game against Chelsea after a clash with Diego Costa and that was the end of his career at the club.
The Arsenal legend noted that that period was supposed to be the start of his career because he had something others did not have which would have been an asset to Unai Emery and the club today.
