Arsenal scouting for interesting Ligue 2 star

Arsenal are reportedly in the race to secure the signature of French Ligue 2 player Alexis Claude-Maurice with claims that they have scouted for the youngster.

Alexis Claude-Maurice is only 20 but he has been interesting a number of big sides with claims that Spanish La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid, French Ligue 1 side Lille and other European sides are also in the race for his signature

The youngster has shown big prospect for the Ligue 2 outfit FC Lorient this season, scoring 13 goals in 29 games and handing three assists to help his team.

It is claimed that the North London side are keen to land the star player as they have been encouraged by the fact that he would be sold for £10 million which is viewed as a perfect fee that would be easy for the Gunners to meet.

L’Equipe report that Borussia Monchengladbach, AS Monaco and Eintracht Frankfurt are also interested in the player but sources close to him claim that he will only be interested in a move that “will allow him to play, go to the next level and enjoy himself,”

This remains a good deal for manager Unai Emery, knowing that he would not have more than £40 million to engage in the summer transfer window.
