It is necessary for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger to strengthen his side at the end of this season. And ahead of the summer transfer window, a handful of top players have been linked with a move to Arsenal.
However, some Arsenal players – including Alexis Sanchez, Giroud, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, have all been linked with moves away from the club.
Oxlade-Chamberlain in particular had been linked with premier league rival Liverpool in recent times.
And right now, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has encouraged the 23-year-old to sign a new deal at the Emirates club.
He was signed into Arsenal from Southampton back in 2011, and has gone on to make 188 appearances for the North London club ever since.
Even though lots of critics had accused him of not living his early potential, he has been one of Arsenal’s top performers this current campaign.
His current contract at Arsenal is set to expire after next season, and Wenger wants him to stay and put to paper a new deal at the club.
The French coach, talking to the media ahead of his side’s clash against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United in their next premier league game, noted that the Englishman’s performances have been convincing and positive too.
Wenger wants the youngster to commit his future to Arsenal and he looks forward to Alex signing a new deal when summer comes.
