As Chelsea Italian manager Antonio Conte is on the way to lift the premier league title in his first season at Chelsea, the former Juventus manager has explained why his side need to spend big during the fast approaching summer transfer window.
The former Italy head coach stated that he will have discussions with the Chelsea hierarchy over the next few months in regards to the summer transfer window.
Chelsea’s ten points lead at the top of the premier league table have been reduced to seven after losing to Palace at Stamford Bridge. Nevertheless, it seems Conte is not too worried with Tottenham’s chase.
He led his men to bounce back with an impressive win over Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on Wednesday night to prove themselves as firm favourites to lift the trophy this season.
It is now obvious Chelsea are very likely to represent England in next season’s Champions League, and the Italian coach revealed that he intend working with the management to find solutions ahead of a more demanding and busy season.
He was asked if his current squad at the club would be sufficient next term, and the boss noted that importantly, he is keen on taking the full three points when his side clash next with Bournemouth – and he need to reach his target.
He also added that his first target this season is to get Chelsea into the Champions League, and he want to ensure Chelsea must play always every term in the Champions League.
