AC Milan Convince Serie A Powerhouse To Snub Manchester United

AC Milan has moved ahead of Manchester United and Chelsea in pursuit of Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie, according to reports in Italy.

The 20-year-old midfielder has been regarded as one of the brightest prospects in the Serie A, drawing interest from several clubs in Europe who are trying to tempt him out of Atalanta.

A host of Premier League clubs have been credited for his interest with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United understood to be ahead in his pursuit.

The Blues were said to have failed in their bid to sign Franck Kessie during the last January transfer window with suggestions that they will return for the midfielder this summer while Manchester United boss Jose Mourino is also keen on adding steel to his current midfield set-up.

However, reports in Calciomercato claims that Kessie has had meeting with AC Milan who tried to convince him to join San Siro next season depsite keen interest from several clubs with Serie A rivals, Roma also believed to be vying for his signature.

The box-to-box midfielder is valued at around £21 million by Atalanta due to his influence in the impressive outing so far this season, which has seen him score seven goals despite playing at the holding midfield.
