Star Striker Back Man United Interest In 22-year-old Lindelof

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski heaped lots of praises on Benfica centre-back Victor Lindelof after practically seeing what the defender is made of. Lindelof is a Manchester United target, heavily linked with a move next month.

According to certain reports that emanated from Portugal earlier this week, a €45m deal between the red devils and Benfica had been agreed.

Lewandowski met with Lindelof on the pitch during Bayern Munich’s Champions League quarter-final clash with Benfica back in April- Lewandowski’s side progressed to the semis after a 3-2 aggregate win. And while speaking prior to the second leg of that encounter, the striker was full of praise for Lindelof and his centre-back partner Jardel.

In the first leg of the encounter, even though Munich claimed a 1-0 home win, it wasn’t an easy game for them as the duo Lindelof and Jardel were frustrating the attempts of Lewandowski with other Munich’s key players.

In the second leg however, Bayern Munich worked harder, going behind early, racing into a 3-1 aggregate lead. But even then, with the German side at their pomp, Lindelof didn’t look out of place, displaying immense levels of speed and power to keep tabs on Douglas Costa.

Even though Lindelof isn’t presently quite popular in England, the fact remains that he’s a player who draws attention at big stages.
