Seven-time European champions AC Milan have scheduled transfer talks with Chelsea in a bid to sign midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko on a permanent deal according to widespread reports coming out of Italy.
French midfielder Bakayoko is on a season-long loan at Italian Serie A giants AC Milan from London club Chelsea after failing to settle in the Premier League.
Italian media outlet Calciomercato claim that AC Milan have scheduled transfer talks for April in their quest to make his transfer permanent.
Tiemoue Bakayoko has impressed a great deal in the colours of the Rossoneri since joining them on loan at the start of the season.
The former AS Monaco player didn’t have the best of starts at AC Milan but he recovered well to seal a permanent spot in the starting XI under manager Gennaro Gattuso.
AC Milan will also tell his parent club, Chelsea, to reduce his transfer fee by €5m from €35m to €30m.
The Blues had earlier inserted a €35m transfer fee in the loan contract that took Bakayoko to AC Milan last summer.
Tiemoue Bakayoko became surplus to requirements at Chelsea at the end of last season after his first season at the club following his £40m transfer from Monaco in the summer of 2017.
