Chelsea hunt for additional fire power up front that could serve as a better back up to Diego Costa is set to be signed.
According to Daily Star, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is currently monitoring the situation of Sampdoria forward Luis Muriel but will have to wait until summer transfer to make move for him.
Report has it that Conte want to see the star performances this season and make a judgment on him at the end of the season campaign.
The 25-year old South American star joined Sampdoria in 2015 from Udinese for £10m. The Colombian forward has been on fine form for the Serie A side this season having found the back of the net six times in 14 league appearances.
Chelsea sign 23-year old striker Michy Batshuayi from Marseille last summer for £33m but the forward has failed to command a game time.
The Belgium star who was signed to serve as competition for Diego Costa has struggled to make impart with just three league appearances for the Blues this season.
However, Chelsea will have to battle Serie A giants Napoli, who are also keen on signing the Colombian having sold out Gonzalo Higuain to Jeventus last summer.
