Southampton are confident of landing Caen attacker Yann Karamoh, according to reports.

The promising youngster has been in a contract stand-off with the French Ligue 1 as he enters the final year of his current deal, drawing interest from a host of clubs in the Premier League.

Arsenal are said to be front-runners in the deal to sign Karamoh who is dubbed as the next Kylian Mbappe due to his impressive displays appreciated by so many in France.

However, the Saints are said to have been in contact with Karamoh and Caen despite their dispute, with reports that the English side are considering a £8.75million deal

According to the Sun claim that Southampton will pounce on Karamoh’s signature once the contract dispute has been resolved, with hopes that the forward does not renew his deal with Caen.

Arsenal are also said to be considering a move for Karamoh and has been monitoring his transfer situation over the last year that has seen him make 35 appearances for the senior team at Caen, netting five goals and four assists in the Ligue 1 from the right flank.

The Gunners are believed to have contacted Kylian Mbappe following his impressive run for the Ligue 1 champions but will have to beat competition from Real Madrid this summer.
