Conte To Chelsea Board: Do All You Can To Sign Romelu Lukaku

Everton star striker Romelu Lukaku has emerged as Chelsea’s number one target with the departure of Diego Costa to Atletico Madrid getting closer.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is understood to be determined to win the race for the player’s signature and won’t mind breaking the transfer record by meeting the £100Million fee the toffees are demanding for.

The Belgium international enjoyed another fabulous campaign at Ronald Koeman’s side but is set to leave Goodison Park after refusing to sign a new contract.

Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United have also expressed interest in him earlier in the summer, but the Portuguese tactician is focussing more on a move for Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata, while Romelu would prefer to return back to Chelsea.

Having asked Diego Costa to leave, Conte is keen on securing Lukaku and he believes the Belgian can justify the hefty price-tag slapped on his head by the Goodison Park club.

And according to The Daily Telegraph, the Italian manager has told the Chelsea board to do whatever it takes to bring Romelu to Stamford Bridge as he sees the Belgian as a perfect fit for his preferred system.

Apart from completing the signing of the Belgian, the premier league champions are also hoping to complete deals for both Tiemoue Bakayoko and Antonio Rudiger in the coming days.
