Manchester United have been dealt a massive blow in their pursuit of Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, according to reports.
The Spanish giants were understood to be chasing AS Monaco youngster Kylian Mbappe who has attracted a lot of interest from several clubs in Europe due to his brilliant form with the French champions last season.
Prior reports claim that the Champions League winners were willing to sell Gareth Bale in order to create space for the French sensation who is also said to be keen joining the Santiago Bernabeu this summer
However, reports in Guardian have it that Real Madrid have pulled out of a move for Mbappe, and will keep Bale instead this summer.
The 27-year-old has been a subject of interest from Manchester United with reports that Real were keen on offloading the winger this summer after getting frustrated at his lack of action due to incessant injuries.
United boss Jose Mourinho was spotted chatting with the Welsh star during their preseason friendly in United States sparking speculation that the English giants will finally move for the player while some reports suggested otherwise claiming that the Red Devils are willing to wait till next summer before signing Bale.
