Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is a subject of transfer battle from Manchester United and Arsenal, according to reports.
The 23-year-old has been an impressive figure for the Black Cats this season despite their failure in the Premier League which has led them to relegation under former United boss David Moyes.
Reports in the Daily Telegraph have it that the host of clubs in the Premier League have shown interest in Pickford after Sunderland have been relegated to the Championships next season.
It is understood that Jose Mourinho is ready to beat their rivals to young keeper’s signature as a possible replacement for David De Gea who is set to leave the Old Trafford in favour of a move to Real Madrid this summer.
However, Sunderland boss David Moyes has warned Pickford about leaving Stadium of Light to ‘sit on the bench’ at a big club.
‘At the moment, I really wouldn’t know,’ Moyes said when asked about the player’s future, he said: ‘I think that would be a telling factor if the alternative was to go and sit on the bench somewhere else’
‘If I was Jordan I wouldn’t do that, I’d want to be playing regularly but again Sunderland hold his contract and Jordan can’t go anywhere unless we decide to let it happen.’
