Manchester United have launched a £70million bid for Real Madrid midfielder, James Rodriguez, according to reports.
The Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho wants to bring in an attacking midfielder that could take the place of Wayne Rooney, who has been tipped to leave the Old Trafford after an illustrious career at the club.
It is understood that the United boss had earlier contacted Rodriguez about the possibility of joining him at Manchester this summer which the player is also open, considering the fact that he has not been able to get into Zinedine Zidane’s plans at Santiago Bernabeu.
Prior reports claim that the Colombian star rejected a bid from AC Milan and wants a move to the Premier League with reports that Chelsea have also registered an interest in the midfielder.
Reports in the Mediaset Premium claims that United have tabled a bid around £66million for James Rodriguez, with hopes that Real Madrid will finally accept to cash in on the star.
Real president, Fiorentina Perez said earlier this week that the 25-year-old is not for sale, despite rumours surrounding his future at the Spanish capital.
Real Madrid have reportedly increased their asking price for Alvaro Morata to £80milllion, pricing Manchester United out a potential deal.
