Liverpool are preparing to swoop for RB Leipzig star Naby Keita, according to various reports.
Jurgen Klopp is believed to be wary of his side’s defensive frailities and will try reinforce next summer, Reports in Liverpool Echo suggests that the Reds are considering a summer move for Keita and might even cough out a fee in the region of £26million next summer.
The Times also reports that Liverpool are keen on bringing the midfielder to Anfield next summer as part of their transfer signings next summer.
Naby Keita had earlier confirmed there is interest from Premier League clubs, he said: “Arsenal, and Man City…were interested in signing me, and Liverpool as well”.
However, Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangwick has remained adamant that the club will not sell the midfielder, he said: “Naby’s an extraordinary player who could play in any European top team, but he’s still under contract for a long time yet. If we qualify for Europe there’s also no reason why Naby shouldn’t play for us next season.”
Liverpool have been plagued with injuries to the most key players this season and will need a player in mode Naby Keita who has been likened to Chelsea’s N’golo Kante due to his combative skills in the midfield.
