Liverpool player Emre Can played 67 minutes for his side in their Saturday’s Premier League defeat to Hull City, but Liverpool fans were furious with his performance on Twitter.
Emre was substituted in the second-half after he failed to make an impact in the game and couldn’t prevent his side from suffering a shocking away defeat.
Liverpool were beaten 2-0 by Hull City, all thanks to goals from City’s duo of Alfred N’Diaye and Oumar Niasse.
As things stands now, it appears Liverpool are now out of the title race as they are currently 13 points behind table leaders Chelsea. They still face a tough battle to remain in the top four positions.
Emre has been a regular feature in the Reds starting line-up this season so far and is a big favourite of manager Jurgen Klopp.
However, this season, Liverpool have operated with a midfield trio of Georginio Wijnaldum, Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson at times.
klopp and his men will face second-placed Tottenham in their next match and the German coach could be tempted to resort back to a midfield without Can.
The German international is known to be a defensive-minded player who offers very little attacking threat to opponents.
