Derby Country boss Frank Lampard has hailed Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri for having his former boss Jose Mourinho under control.
Lampard’s former manager Mourinho was involved in a faceoff with Marco Ianni on Saturday after a later equalizer was scored by Ross Barkley.
The former Chelsea boss claims his side were disrespected by the Chelsea assistant.
However, the situation was brought under control by the Blues manager Maurizio Sarri who had apologized and admitted his side were at fault.
In his reaction, Lampard said the Italian boss had done the best to have accepted the wrong by his side.
The Stamford Bridge legend admits the issue has been brought under control with the display of wisdom by the former Napoli boss.
He admitted that anyone would have acted the way Mourinho did which to him, is not an issue that should be overstretched by anyone.
Lampard noted that every manager wants to have the pride and independence of his technical area as it has been assigned by the system and the rules.
However, the game remains a big blow to Chelsea who have failed to maintain their lead to share points with their visitors.
The Sarri team now return to third in the Premier League table with 21 points in 9 games.
