I Changed My Game For Sarri – Chelsea Midfielder Confesses

Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has narrated how he had to change his game to meet the demands of Blues manager Maurizio Sarri this season.

Former Napoli and Empoli manager Sarri was named the new Chelsea boss last summer and he introduced a new style ‘Sarriball’ to the club which was different to what was obtainable under the previous managerial era of Antonio Conte.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek struggled for minutes under Maurizio Sarri earlier this season especially in the Premier League but things have changed drastically for the England international in recent weeks.

The former Crystal Palace player talked about the reason behind the change in an interview with the official website of Chelsea.

The change has seen him record more Premier League minutes under the tutelage of Maurizio Sarri in the past weeks.

According to Loftus-Cheek, he has been able to work on the things Sarri demanded earlier in the season.

The English midfielder further revealed that his defensive awareness and positioning has improved just like what the manager demanded at the start of this campaign.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek recently came off the bench to score the winning goal in a controversial 2-1 away win over Welsh side Cardiff City in the Premier League before scoring one of the goals in a 3-0 home win over struggling Brighton in the same competition.

He has started the last two games for Chelsea in the Premier League.
