Derby County manager Frank Lampard is staying grounded on the task at hand despite the intense transfer rumours linking him with the top managerial role at former club Chelsea.
Frank Lampard has done a good job at Derby County and it’s not surprising that he has been touted as a potential replacement for Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri who could leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
The Chelsea legend was asked about the possibility of replacing Sarri this summer during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Championship Playoff final clash with Aston Villa.
According to him, his focus is on securing Premier League promotion for Derby County at the expense of favourites Aston Villa.
Their playoff final clash is billed for the Wembley Stadium on Monday.
Recent reports claimed that Chelsea have identified Frank Lampard as the man to replace Maurizio Sarri who could leave Chelsea after the Europa League final meeting with London rivals Arsenal on Wednesday.
Chelsea could sack Sarri after just one season though the Italian tactician is in serious contention for the managerial job at Juventus.
The former Napoli boss has also been touted as the next permanent manager at AS Roma.
For now, the focus is to win the first trophy in his managerial career ahead of the Arsenal clash.
