Romours: Liverpool to sign highly rated forward in January

Liverpool is believed to be in the hunt for a powerful striker to compete with Daniel Sturridge for the No 9 position in January. The English man hasn’t been prolific this season, which has led the Reds tactician Jurgen Klopp to deployed Sadio mane in the striking role.

Latest report according to the Guardian claims that Liverpool have enter the race to sign Iranian forward Sardar Azmoun in the winter transfer window.

The highly rated 21-year old striker has been in form this season both domestically and in European football with goals against Anderlecht and Ajax and also scoring against Atlético Madrid in last week’s group game.

Speaking concerning the player potential move to Liverpool in January, his agent Mehdi Hagitali has this to say.
“I read about the interest in Sardar from Liverpool, but I can say that at present there have been no formal proposals from either foreign or Russian clubs,” Hagitali said.

“Now his main goal is to become the best striker in the Russian Premier League.
“Kurban Berdyev is like a father figure, and he would like to work with the coach. [But] if some proposals come, we will look at them.”

Liverpool boss Kloop, earlier admitted that his team will be going for an outright striker in January following Danny Ings inury crises coupled with in-formed striker Mane imminent January departure for the African Cup of Nations.

“We watch the market all the time and of course we need to be prepared for different situations and one of them is injuries,” Klopp said.

“The African Cup of Nations we already knew about so we don’t need to be influenced or surprised by that, but it could be a moment when we approach the market.

“It’s not about how many strikers. Three strikers is enough, I think. But when Sadio is away we will be without a winger. We do not have many wingers, I would say.”

Should Liverpool finally decide to get a new forward, the dubbed “Iranian Lionel Messi,” would certainly be a good option.
