Real Madrid star player Danilo has emerged as a target for Chelsea this summer and appeared destined to play in the premier league next season following recent reports that he is getting set to leave the Bernabeu and Chelsea are closing in on a deal for him.

After a discouraging start to the summer window, Chelsea are starting to make some reasonable progress with a number of signings.

The premier league champions finalised a £34million deal for Germany international Antonio Rudiger last week and are expected to complete the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko anytime soon.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte desire adding more quality to his squad with two or three more additions ahead of a busy campaign next season.

The Italian manager has identified Danilo as a prime target despite that the defender only appeared in 17 La Liga games last term.

The Brazilian defender is also said to be open to the idea of making the move to the premier league.

And popular Spanish news outlet Marca are reporting that the Stamford Bridge club are now closing in on securing a deal for the 25-year-old but have not yet reach an agreement with the Champions League winners.

It was added that the Spanish club are demanding £31million for the samba star, but the blues are taking their time to see if the valuation will be lowered.
