Tottenham Hotspur suffered more despair on Wednesday night as midfielder Mousa Dembele suffered an injury in the 1-0 loss to Bayern Leverkusen in the Champions League. During the match at Wembley, the midfielder had to be taken off before the end of the first half after twisting his ankle and is now a doubt to face Arsenal in the North London derby on Sunday. The start to the season for Dembele has been a frustrating one largely due to injuries and suspension and it now seems the Belgian could be out of action for some time. Tottenham midfielder, Eric Dier feels his exploits at Euro 2016 is the reason for his poor start to the season. The signing of Victor Wanyama from Southamption has seen competition for places in the midfield become tougher and with an injury earlier on in the season Dier has found it hard to reach the heights of last season. FA Charges Sissoko For Elbow On Harry Arter
Tottenham’s and France international midfielder Moussa Sissoko has been charged by the Football Association for an elbow on Bournemouth’s Harry Arter. Sissoko caught Arter in the face with his right elbow just eight minutes after being introduced in the second half after both midfielder contested for a loose ball in Spurs’ goalless draw with Bournemouth. Referee Craig Pawson and his assistants missed the incident at the time which led the FA to review the incident, and have now charged Sissoko for violent conduct, and he has until 6pm on Tuesday to respond. Tottenham Held By Bournemouth In A Feisty Goalless Draw
Tottenham blew their chance to go top of the Premier League table after being held to a goalless draw against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. In an early exchange that saw Tottenham carve out the first chance of the game when Artur Boruc who was in goal for Bournemouth misplaced a pass which Dele Alli latched on to and placed a waited pass to Son Heung-Min, but he was flagged in an offside position.
