Arsenal have perfected a major coup following the transfer of former Chelsea youth player Zach Medley after a successful trial with the Gunners having been a member of the Blues Academy from age until October 2017 however his next phase of development as a player would be with the North London side.
Zach Medley, who is primarily a defender, was initially handed a trial but didn’t impress in his first game as he gave away a penalty in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with the Fulham U18s in what was a London Derby but he subsequently did enough to convince the club scouts of a place in the Arsenal U18s leading him to sign a scholarship deal with the club.
He would be hoping he could follow in the footsteps of former youth players such as Ashley Cole, Gael Clichy, Hector Bellerin, Jack Wilshere, Francis Coquelin, Cesc Fabregas and many more in breaking into the first team.
The first team squad are currently preparing for a crucial league clash with Tony Pulis’ West Brom side at the Emirates Stadium on Boxing Day (Monday, December 26, 2017) with three points a must for Arsenal after a run of two successive losses to Everton and Manchester City.
