Premier League Champions Chelsea are set to pay up to £35million for unsettled Arsenal versatile forward Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Chelsea Head Coach Antonio Conte is a big fan of the midfielder and is stepping up his efforts to lure the Arsenal man across the City of London.

The England international forward is one of the Italian tacticians’ top transfer targets and he is now poised to test the Gunners’ resolve to hang onto the frontman.

The 23-year-old midfielder has just 12 months remaining on his current contract and the Chelsea boss hopes a big-money bid will persuade them to do business with the Blues.

Former Italy National men football team coach Antonio Conte wants to strengthen his team by signing four more players before the summer transfer window slams shut.

And he has identified the England man to battle the right wing back position with his title-winning Nigerian Victor Moses, a position the Arsenal man prefers over the left wing back position he has been deployed to play in during Arsenal’s pre-season games.

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s Arsenal contract discussions have been put on hold though Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insisted the former Southampton starlet remains a big part of his plans at the Emirate Stadium.
