The Blues quest to sign Bundesliga star Ricardo Rodriguez has hit the rock, after his agent Gianluca Di Domenico insisted his client is going nowhere.
The 24-year old left back was a major target for Chelsea new boss Antonio Conte last season, before he later opted to sign Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina.
Speaking concerning the rumours linking Rodriguez away from Wolfsburg, his agent Gianluca Di Domenico said:
“Ricardo is usually the object of transfer speculation, but it’s time to put an end to these stories,” Di Domenico said.
“Ricardo is only focused on Wolfsburg.”
Wolfsburg are currently struggling in the Bundesliga this season, with just two points above the relegation zone.
Should Wolfsburg not improve; Ricardo might however consider a higher challenge.
The highly rated star was also a prime target for Arsenal last summer as report has it that Arsene Wenger was looking for long time successor for Nacho Monreal.
The Switzerland international moved to Wolfsburg in 2012 from Zurich. Since his arrival, the highly rated star has made a total of 157 appearances for the Bundesliga team.
Chelsea are currently looking for a defensive reinforcement in January. The Blues have only Alonso as a natural left back defender, having sent Ghanaian defender Abdul Baba Rahman on a season loan.
