It is claimed that the Red Devils will have to fork out about £30m to secure his services.
It was also reported by Starsport that Klopp is looking to secure the defenders signature in the upcoming transfer window to bolster his defence for the second half of the English Premier League.
It will be interesting to see where he ends up – if he does leave the saints- with both Liverpool and Manchester a kind of relationship with Southampton in the transfer market.
Virjil is not the only defender targeted by Mourinho who is also looking to Bayern Munich left/wing back David Alaba and his fellow Austria international Aleksander Dragovic.
