Liverpool Ready To Destroy World Record In New Transfer Deal

After completing deals for Dominic Solanke and Mohamed Salah, Liverpool fans are eagerly awaiting their club to bring in some additional new legs before the end of this summer transfer window.

And it appears the club will be putting another smile on the faces of their supporters soon as there are reports that the Anfield club look set to announce the signing of Southampton’s Virgil Van Dijk for a fee that could threaten the World Record amount ever paid for a defender.

Earlier this summer, Jurgen Klopp’s side were forced to issue an apology to Southampton after the Saints threatened to report them to the premier league for approaching the player illegally.

The two clubs are now at peace, and it was thought interest have been cooled over the transfer.

But the Dutch defender desire making a move away from the club this summer and has made it clear to Southampton, with Liverpool thought to be his preferred destination.

He has now been left out of Southampton’s training camp visit to France and the club’s current manager says he isn’t ‘psychologically at 100%’’ to train with the rest of his teammates.

If Van Dijk should come to Liverpool, he would become the sixth arrival from the Saints and become the most expensive defender (with Liverpool expected to pay up to £60 Million for him).
