Fulham Dealt Huge Blow In Pursuit Of Liverpool Defender

Struggling Premier League side Fulham have been dealt a huge blow in their pursuit of Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne ahead of the upcoming transfer window scheduled to begin as from the 1st of January.

Clyne, 27, has been on the fringes of the Liverpool team this season thus leading to talks about a transfer away from the club.

Several Premier League sides are keen on a move for him.

Struggling Premier League sides Fulham and Cardiff City are said to be interested in the Englishman according to various reports in the British media.

2015/16 Premier League champions Leicester City are the third team linked with the Liverpool right-back though West London giants Fulham were the favourites for him.

Claudio Ranieri won the Premier League title for Leicester City three seasons ago and he was recently appointed to drag Fulham out of the bottom three.

The Italian tactician has identified Nathaniel Clyne as a possible signing ahead of the New Year but that has suffered a big blow following the injury to Liverpool defender Joe Gomez.

Gomez is one of the two right-backs consistently used by Reds manager Jurgen Klopp this season alongside compatriot Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Nathaniel Clyne is the third choice right-back and the injury to Gomez could stop him from leaving the club.
